So Long Netflix

This morning I received the following email from Netflix… Dear Zane And Karen, You are receiving this email because you added unlimited Blu-ray access to your account for $1 a month. The number of Blu-ray titles has increased significantly and will continue to do so. As we buy more, you are able to choose from...

I’m with you. At the end of my next billing I will be looking for an alternative… blockbuster!

I encourage you all to cancel NOW. A large number of cancelations in one week will get their attention more than canceling later in the month.

Make a statement: cancel now. I did, and I forwarded my cancelation email to Reed Hastings. (reed.hastings@netflix.com)

The internet today is a little confusing

Do you ever find yourself struggling to figure out how to manage the torrent of new web services available out there? Probably not. I doubt you sit up at nights trying to figure out how to avoid using duplicate services for single purposes. Good news is I do. If your tired of trying to figure...

Blog updated again :) – Subscription Update Required!

While helping Melissa Wise Barrick update her photographer blog I decided it was time to change my own blog theme as well. My old theme had too skinny of a format that constrained the photo and video size of what I could post and the side bar was too crowded with widgets. I believe you...

CNBC vs. Jon Stewart

Over the past 5 days beloved comedian Jon Stewart and the Daily Show staff decided to introduce a level of reality that you rarely see in today’s news. I stayed up late to watch every one and loved it. If you are lacking time jump ahead to the last video. Please post your thoughts about...

I read someone recently describe Jon Stewart as the Edward R. Murrow of our time. Very thought provoking concept and it seems to back what Stewart espouses: that today’s media does a horrible job reporting the news – hence someone like Stewart, a comedian, is somehow the closest thing we have to critical journalism.

I can’t help but agree. I also can’t help but wonder if Jim Cramer is done, a la Stewart’s killing of the CNN show Crossfire after appearing on it and making everyone else look like petty fools. If so, he’s not only Edward R. Murrow, but also a new age Dr. Kevorkian, putting talking heads out of their misery with their prior consent.

One can only hope.

Awesome analysis Jimmy! Jon Stewart is definitely one of the only “journalist” I trust these days. Everyone else seems to have motivating factors other then informing the public.

For anyone who hasn’t seen Jon Stewart own Crossfire (RIP 1982 to 2005) watch it on youtube @ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmj6JADOZ-8
