Over the past 5 days beloved comedian Jon Stewart and the Daily Show staff decided to introduce a level of reality that you rarely see in today’s news. I stayed up late to watch every one and loved it. If you are lacking time jump ahead to the last video. Please post your thoughts about CNBC, Jim Cramer or Jon Stewart as comments below.

Round 1: March 4th 2009 – CNBC Financial Advice

And finally, Jim Cramer performs an interview with Jon Stewart on the Daily Show! (For the record I have tremendous respect for Cramer for doing this show. He fell on the sword like Dwight did last night on the office)

Once again a South Carolina state legislator blows my mind with stupidity! State Senator Robert Ford (District 42 – Charleston Co.) is hoping to outlaw lewd language and is pushing for a bill (S 0056 General Bill) that would prohibit profanity. Under the pre-filed bill, profanity could land you in jail for up to 5 years and/or cost you up to $5,000 in fines. Debra Gammons says, that the First Amendment is not absolute. You cannot say whatever you want whenever you want to.

NBC2 News Story

I have called his office and requested a meeting with the Senator to get his side of the story. I don’t stand for this kind of shit. If his answer isn’t logical I am going to make it my job to get this bill shot down and his ass out of office next election.

Right now S.C. has other things to worry about.

The Economy is headed south

South Carolina ranks 48th out of 51 (includes DC) with an unemployment rate of 8.4% as of Dec. 19, 2008 (CNN)

South Carolina high schools represent roughly 1% of all secondary schools in the US, South Carolina contributes 5% of the total number of high school drop outs. (Source)

Clearly our top priority should be profanity! (thx for the data johnnick)

Please call his office and fwd this blog entry to your local Charleston friends and neighbors. So far only 8 people have called, two of which were in Sen. Fords district (not including myself). His contact information is below.

Here is the digg submission that led me to this story.

I will update this entry with Sen. Robert Fords response if he does reply. I was very polite and respectful but doubt he will. Maybe I should run for office and take his seat!

I hope we have verifiable voting by the 2008 Elections. I don’t trust S.C. I want to be able to go home, put a private number or “Key” into a form online and verify who the U.S. thinks I voted for. Not having this is reta… stupid.

So far I have publicly informed him that he is an embarrassment to our state. I actually posted it twice because I went to another computer and the first comment didn’t show up so I assumed he removed it so I posted it again. When the page reloaded it was there twice (doh!). Oh well. Here it is in case he does remove them both.
